PowerBall® Power Play® 10X Multiplier Hit
The 10X multiplier, added for the month of April to the Power Play® wheel, was hit for the first time in Wednesday’s PowerBall® drawing.
This promotion proved rewarding for many Rhode Island players who bought the Power Play® option for an additional dollar, claiming 10 fold their original prize value. There were several PowerBall® tickets sold in Rhode Island with $100 payouts. However, only seven players purchased the Power Play® option that multiplied their prize to $1,000.
There were also two $10,000 winning tickets sold in Rhode Island for last night’s PowerBall® drawing. The winning tickets matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number. The standard payout for this type of win is $10,000. The winners did not purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If the players had opted for Power Play®, their $10,000 prizes would have been multiplied by ten, Wednesday’s Power Play® number, increasing both prizes to $100,000.
One of the winning tickets was purchased by a Rehoboth man from Great Road Li’l General at 659 Great Rd., North Smithfield. The other was sold by East Bay Food Mart at 244 Taunton Ave., East Providence, and still remains unclaimed.
PowerBall® players will continue to have the chance to multiply their winnings 10 times through April 30, 2008.
