Holiday Weekend Wins!
$100,000 & $15,000 Instant Ticket Wins
Plus Winners in Keno & Mega Millions®
Lottery players struck it big over the holiday weekend.
A North Providence man cashed in a $100,000 winning "Rhode Island Red" Instant Ticket. He bought the ticket at Fast Freddie's, 471 Putnam Pike, Greenville.
There was also a $15,000 Instant Ticket winner. A Cranston woman won the top prize on the "Rhode Island Lottery Limited" game that she bought at Stop & Shop, 11 Commerce Way, Johnston.
A North Kingstown woman just cashed in a handful of winning Keno tickets she's been collecting since April for a total win of $12,320. She played the same number, 1 7, 17, 71 on all of the tickets. End Zone Pub & Grill, 5835 Post Rd., East Greenwich, sold the majority of the tickets, but there was also one ticket from Corner Tavern on South County Trail, North Kingstown, and one ticket from Richard's Pub on South County Trail, East Greenwich. The winner was accompanied by her daughter with whom she said she'd share the winnings.
A Lincoln man won $10,360 on his Keno Plus ticket that he played at J. Gray's Family Tavern, 405 Mendon Rd., Cumberland. He played a $5 base wager on a 5 spot, and the 5 multiplier came up. As of now, he had no plans for the money.
Although Friday's $79 million Mega Millions® jackpot was won in Michigan, there was still a $10,000 winning ticket sold in Rhode Island. The ticket matched four numbers and the Mega Ball® number. The standard payout for this type of win is $10,000. The winner did not purchase the Megaplier® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If the player had opted for the Megaplier®, the $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by four, Friday's Megaplier® number, to equal $40,000.
Rite Aid, 570 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, sold the winning ticket. The $10,000 prize has yet to be claimed.
Tuesday's estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $12 million.
