$200,000 Winning PowerBall® Ticket Claimed Plus $10,000 PowerBall® and $10,000 Daily Numbers Prizes Claimed
The $200,000 winning PowerBall® ticket sold in Rhode Island for the $75 million PowerBall® drawing on July 26 has been claimed.
Linda Nuss, Louisville, Ky., came in to the Rhode Island Lottery validations office to claim her winnings. She was in the area for a business trip, combined with a family vacation, when she purchased her winning ticket from Commons Convenience Store in South Kingstown. Her family joined her when she came in to pick up her winnings. The reality of the win hadn’t sunk in yet, but her 16-year-old son couldn’t stop smiling as he dreamed of using the prize money to get a car.
Also this week, a $10,000 PowerBall® winner from the July 23 drawing came in to claim his prize. The lucky Woonsocket man purchased his ticket from Convenience Store at 260 Logee St., Woonsocket.
The $200,000 winning ticket matched all five numbers, but not the PowerBall® number and the $10,000 ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number. Neither winner purchased the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. Not long after the big PowerBall winners came in, a Cranston woman came in to claim her $10,000 prize from the July 25 Daily Numbers drawing. She purchased her lucky ticket from Tropical Liquors on Cranston Street in Providence.
Saturday’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $87 million.
