$25,000 a Year for Life Lucky for Life® Ticket Claimed
Scott Davis of Middletown cashed in his winning Lucky for Life® ticket worth $25,000 a year for the rest of his life! Davis mentioned he may take a trip, pay bills and relax for a bit!
This is the first lifetime win in Rhode Island since the game launched in March 2012. He chose the annuity option and the prize is guaranteed for a minimum of 20 years, but will continue to be paid out for the duration of his lifetime. He checked his ticket yesterday at the Shaw's Supermarket located at 71 East Main Road in Middletown, where he bought the lucky Quick Pick.
Davis is new to playing Lucky for Life®. He said this may have been the fourth ticket he bought since his friend recommended he give the game a try. He purchased the winning ticket on October 19; about a month after Lucky for Life® elevated the second-tier prize from the one-time, lump sum payment of $25,000 to $25,000 a year for life.
Lucky for Life®'s top prize is $1,000 a day for life and is the only game in the country that offers two lifetime prizes. The game is sold only in New England.
Drawings are held every Monday and Thursday at 10:38pm and can be viewed on www.NELuckyforLife.com.
