Winning Week at the Rhode Island Lottery Two Unclaimed Prizes about to Expire
This week continues to be lucky for Rhode Island Lottery players. Another three winners came in after Monday’s very busy day in the Validations office.
On Tuesday, a $10,000 PowerBall® winner from the August 13 drawing claimed her prize. The very excited Chepachet woman purchased the lucky ticket from Helen’s Place at 172 Danielson Pike, Foster. She can’t wait to use her winnings to buy a tractor. Her lucky ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number. The standard payout for this type of win is $10,000. She did not purchase the PowerPlay® feature for an additional dollar on her wager. If she had, her $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by four, the PowerPlay® number for that drawing, to equal $40,000. Wednesday and Thursday brought lucky Instant Ticket winners into the Validations office. A happy West Warwick man won $18,000 playing the Take 5 Instant Game. He purchased his ticket from Dave’s Marketplace on Division Street in East Greenwich. Then, today, a $20,000 prize from the Red Hot Slingo Instant Game was claimed. A Westerly man purchased this ticket from Shop & Go Food Mart at 129 Main St., Westerly. He was too excited to sleep after scratching his winning ticket last night.
There are also two unclaimed $10,000 PowerBall® prizes about to expire. One of the tickets was purchased from Colbea Enterprises at 7025 Post Rd., North Kingstown, for the drawing on August 25, 2007. The other unclaimed winning ticket was bought at Crossroads Wine & Spirits on Bulgarmarsh Road in Tiverton for the August 29, 2007, drawing. Players have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their winnings. If the prize goes unclaimed for the full year, it will be turned over to the State’s General Fund.
Archives for the past twelve months of drawings can be found on the Rhode Island Lottery's Winning Numbers page.
