$77,500 in Prizes Given Out
Plus Two $10,000 PowerBall® Winners in Last Night’s Drawing
The Lottery Validation’s Office was packed with winners at the end of the day yesterday. The Rhode Island Lottery paid out $77,500 in prizes in less than an hour!
The first big winner to come in was a North Providence woman and her family. They won $45,000 playing the Grand Casino instant game. The winner plans to use the money to pay to fix their roof and purchase a new car. She bought the winning ticket from Cumberland Farms, 2064 Smith St., North Providence.
Right after, a $10,000 Daily Numbers winner came in. The lucky Providence woman bought her ticket from Sanchez Liquors at 425 Manton Ave., Providence.
The first $10,000 Daily Numbers winner didn’t even walk out the door, when another $10,000 winner came in with her daughter and daughter-in-law, who also won $5,000 each on the Daily Numbers. In their arms was also the daughter-in-law’s 2-month-old baby. They all played the winning number for Tuesday’s drawing, 1 0 2 9, because that’s the time of day the baby was born.
Those winning tickets were purchased from Athens Pizza, 1 Austin Ave., Greenville.
The Daily Numbers drawings take place Monday through Saturday at 6:59 pm and at 6:29 pm on Sundays, live on WPRI-TV.
The winning continues this morning with two $10,000 winning PowerBall® tickets sold for last night’s $105 million drawing. The winning tickets were sold from Cumberland Farms on Fortin Road in North Kingstown and Healy News Store on Robinson Street in Wakefield. Neither player purchased the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If the player had opted for Power Play®, the $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by 2, Wednesday’s Power Play® number, to equal $20,000.
Saturday’s estimated jackpot is at $118 million.
