$2,000,000 PowerBall® PowerPlay® Prize Claimed
A Cranston woman claimed the $2 million winning PowerBall® PowerPlay® ticket from Saturday's drawing. According to the winner, she was at the market with her husband when he mentioned picking up some lottery tickets. Her first response was that they shouldn't bother because they probably wouldn't win. However, her husband wanted to buy some Numbers tickets, so she decided to play a PowerBall® quick pick. She is not sure how they will use the money, but said the win comes right before her 49th wedding anniversary.
The ticket matched five numbers but not the PowerBall® number, for the standard payout of $1,000,000. However, since she added the Power Play® feature for an extra dollar, her prize was increased to $2,000,000.
The winning PowerBall® PowerPlay® ticket was purchased at Stop & Shop, 1300 Ten Rod Rd., North Kingstown.
Tonight's estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $90 million.
