$10,000 PowerBall® & $10,000 Numbers Winners in Rhode Island
A $10,000 winning PowerBall® ticket was sold in Rhode Island for Saturday night’s drawing. The ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number. The standard payout for this type of win is $10,000. The winner did not purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If the player had opted for Power Play®, the $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by 3, Saturday’s Power Play® number, to equal $30,000. The winning ticket was purchased at Cumberland Farms, Route 1A, Charlestown. The $10,000 prize has yet to be claimed.
Wednesday’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $80 million.
An East Providence man collected $10,000 when he validated two $1 four-digit straight Numbers tickets. He played his favorite number 1 1 9 9 on both tickets for the August 22 evening drawing. He said he has the Lottery's winning numbers hotline on speed dial and learned of his win when he called in for the results. While he is still coming up with a plan to use his winnings, he did say he may buy a few more tickets using those lucky digits. East Bay Food Mart, 244 Taunton Ave., East Providence, sold both winning tickets.
