$40,000, $15,000 & $12,000 Instant Ticket Winners
Three lucky Rhode Island Lottery players have scratched off some big wins this week. Winning $40,000, $15,000 and $12,000 Instant Tickets have been claimed.
A woman from Coventry purchased a $40,000 winning "40th Anniversary" ticket in May from Stop & Shop, 300 Quaker Lane, Warwick. In an attempt to keep herself from spending the money, she asked her daughter to hold onto the ticket, rather than cash it in right away. She has decided to set some money aside for her daughter's wedding and keep the remaining money in the bank.
A Providence woman had been holding onto a $15,000 winning "Crossword" Instant Ticket since last week. She realized the ticket was a winner and was told she had to cash the ticket in at Lottery Headquarters, but she was not aware it was a $15,000 winner. Today was the first chance she had to come in and was ecstatic to learn how much she won. Now she has to decide what she will do with her winnings. California Liquors, 84 Union Ave., Providence, sold the winning ticket.
Additionally, a Warwick man cashed in his winning "New England Patriots" Instant Ticket worth $12,000 after being shocked to see the "goal post" for the big win. He called his girlfriend and children to share the news. He plans to save half and spend the other half. Colbea Enterprises, 2128 Elmwood Ave., Warwick sold him the lucky ticket.
