$48,789 WILD MONEY JACKPOT HIT
$10,000 "Santa Cash" & $10,000 PowerBall® Winners
Christmas came early for some Rhode Island Lottery players. The Wild Money jackpot was hit on Saturday for $48,789. Two winning tickets were sold for $24,394 each. One ticket was purchased at Cibao Meat Supermarket, 228 Manton Ave., Providence. The other ticket was purchased at Hess, 305 Phenix Ave., Cranston. Both remain unclaimed.
Additionally, Jason Piccola of Cranston, won $10,000 playing the "Santa Cash" Instant Ticket. He plans on giving most of his winnings to his mother as a payback for everything she has done for him. Jason purchased the winning ticket at Quick Mart, 164 Park Ave., Cranston.
Lastly, someone is holding a $10,000 winning PowerBall® ticket from Saturday night's $90 million drawing. The ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number. The standard payout for this type of win is $10,000. The winner did not purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If the player had opted for Power Play®, the $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by 5, Saturday's Power Play® number, to equal $50,000. The winning ticket was purchased at Cumberland Farms, 1291 Warwick Ave., Warwick. The $10,000 prize has yet to be claimed.
Wednesday's estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $100 million.
