$24,394 Wild Money Winner
$20,000 & $10,000 Instant Ticket Winners
A Charlestown woman claimed a $1,000,000 PowerBall® ticket from the December 27th drawing. The ticket matched five numbers, but not PowerBall® number, for a standard payout of $1,000,000. She did not purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If she had opted for Power Play®, the $1,000,000 prize would have increased to $2,000,000. The winner plans to pay off bills, buy a new truck, maybe go on vacation, and invest the rest. The winning ticket was purchased at Pancho O'Malley's, 140 Point Judith Rd., Narragansett.
Two tickets matched all five numbers for the December 20th Wild Money jackpot drawing, splitting the $48,788 jackpot. A Providence man claimed his $24,394 prize this week, telling Lottery staff he had a very nice Christmas this year. He purchased his winning ticket from Cibao Meat Supermarket, 228 Manton Ave., Providence. The other winning $24,394 Wild Money ticket from the December 20th drawing was sold at Hess Express, 305 Phenix Ave., Cranston and has yet to be claimed.
A Warwick man won $20,000 playing the "Super Joker Slingo" Instant Ticket. He knew he won right away but wasn't sure how much. When he claimed his prize at the Lottery, he found out that he was $20,000 richer. He said, "It feels good, and it's very nice especially right after Christmas." He plans to pay bills and put some money towards a timeshare. Stop & Go Gas & Convenience, 1959 Warwick Ave., Warwick, sold the winning ticket.
Additionally, a woman from Warwick couldn't believe she won $10,000 on her first time playing the "Magic Money" Instant Ticket. She showed the ticket to her friend who was also in disbelief so they went together to a retailer to verify the win. She plans to first donate money to charity and then pay bills. Warwick Liquor, 445 West Shore Rd., Warwick sold the winning ticket.
