$10,000 PowerBall® Wins in Rhode Island
$25,000 Instant Win
A $10,000 winning PowerBall® ticket was sold in Rhode Island for last night’s $564.1 million drawing. The ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number for the standard payout of $10,000. A man from Old Saybrook, CT, who works in Providence, purchased the winning ticket at Olde Smoke Shop, 130 Westminster St., Providence. He did not play the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If he had opted for Power Play®, the $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by 3, last night’s Power Play® number, to equal $30,000.
A $10,000 PowerBall® ticket from the February 7th drawing has been claimed by a man from North Dartmouth and a woman from Fall River. They said they don't typically buy PowerBall®, but when they saw the jackpot was at $380 million, they had to take a chance. Rite Aid, 677 Main Rd., Tiverton, sold the Quick Pick ticket that matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number in the December 7th drawing. They each said they will use the money to pay bills.
Amidst the PowerBall® fever, two friends from Pawtucket decided to buy some Instant Tickets last Friday night from Star Wine & Spirits, 318 West Ave., Pawtucket. They each started scratching their tickets when one of the tickets revealed a $25,000 prize. While the prize was claimed by the Pawtucket man who scratched the ticket, his friend accompanied him to the Lottery. Both said they will split the winnings equally and keep the money in the bank.
