$25,000 a Year FOR LIFE Win & Wild Money Jackpot Hit
Last night proved profitable for Rhode Island Lottery players with a Lucky for Life® winning ticket sold for $25,000 a year for life and the $91,062.95 Wild Money jackpot hit.
A West Warwick man will be celebrating his birthday with $25,000 every year for the rest of his life. The winner cashed in his Lucky for Life® ticket from last night's drawing, which matched the first five numbers but not the Lucky Ball number to win the second prize of $25,000 a year for life. He said his wife passed away two years ago, and he feels that this was her way of giving him a birthday present. The winner shared the news of his win with his boss this morning by asking him if he knows anyone that ever won the lottery. When his boss responded "No", the winner quickly replied, "You do now." He assured his boss he'd be back to work on Monday, but told Lottery staff he was planning on retiring in a year, so this money will make that easier. West Warwick Shell, 6 Providence St., West Warwick, sold the winning Quick Pick ticket. There was also $19,437 in prizes ranging from $3 to $200 won by Rhode Island Lottery players in last night's Lucky for Life® drawing.
Wild Money's $91,062.95 jackpot was also won last night. Stop & Shop at 275 Warwick Ave., Cranston, sold the winning ticket that matched all five numbers. A Warwick woman claimed the prize first thing this morning. When she checked her ticket last night, she saw that she needed to come to the Lottery to claim her prize, but was unsure of how much she actually won. She was thrilled to find out it was $91,062 and said she'll now be able to make all of the home repairs she's wanted to do.
The next Wild Money drawing is on Saturday and the estimated jackpot will return to its starting amount of $20,000.
