$40,000 Winning PowerBall® Ticket Claimed

The $40,000 winning PowerBall® ticket sold in Rhode Island for Saturday’s $33.6 million PowerBall® drawing has been claimed. 
 
A Bristol, RI, couple celebrating their 51st anniversary came in to claim their prize.  They plan on keeping their big win a secret until they can surprise their children and grandchildren with an amazing gift for Christmas like a family trip somewhere. 

The winning ticket was purchased at Cumberland Farms, 400 Metacom Ave., Bristol. 

The ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number, for a $10,000 prize.  The couple selected the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager so their $10,000 prize was multiplied by four, Saturday’s Power Play® number, increasing the prize to $40,000. 
 
Wednesday’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $42 million.
