GREENVILLE WOMAN CASHES IN $50,000 PowerBall® Ticket
$20,000 INSTANT TICKET CLAIMED
A Greenville woman cashed in a winning $50,000 PowerBall® ticket from the March 26th drawing. She thought something bad happened after her husband let out a shout when he was online. He showed her the winning numbers on the computer and she shouted too. The winner was one number away from winning the jackpot.
The winning ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number for the standard payout of $50,000. She did not purchase the PowerPlay® feature for an additional $1 on the wager, which would have multiplied her prize by 3, the PowerPlay® number for Saturday's draw, to win $150,000. The winner has no immediate plans for the money but did say, "I will pay it forward. I believe when you give it comes full circle back to you."
Pick 'N Pay Food Mart, 615 Putnam Pike, Greenville, sold the winning ticket.
Moreover, the $50,000 PowerBall® tickets from the March 23rd drawing have yet to be claimed. They were sold at East Side Prescription Center, 632 Hope St., Providence and Nayco Stores, 198 Front St., Lincoln.
Wednesday's estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $116 million.
In addition, a woman from Pascoag cashed in a winning $20,000 "$1,000,000 Scratch" Instant Ticket. The winner and her husband stopped by Stop & Shop, 595 Smithfield Rd., North Smithfield, after she was released from the hospital. "This is nice.", she said, "This will help with the hospital bill." The winner and her husband also plan to use some of the money won for their daughter's college expenses.
One (1) $1 million and nine (9) $20,000 top prizes remain on the "$1,000,000 Scratch" Instant Ticket.
