Winners Galore at the Rhode Island Lottery
More than $2.3 Million in Prizes Paid Out in 2009
The new year has brought some extra cash to a lot of Rhode Island Lottery players. In just two days, the Rhode Island Lottery has paid out more than $2.3 million in prizes, and out of that, 15 players won $10,000 or more to total $1,531,243. Below is a listing of the claim dates, prize amounts, game names, cities or towns of the winners and the retailer locations where the high tier winning tickets were purchased.

There were also two $10,000 winning PowerBall® tickets sold for Saturday night’s $91 million drawing that have not been claimed yet. One of the winning tickets was sold from Stop & Shop on 199 Connell Highway in Newport. Borderline Liquors on 1520 Newport Avenue in Pawtucket sold the other winning ticket.
Both $10,000 tickets matched the first four numbers, but not the PowerBall® number, for the standard payout of $10,000. Neither $10,000 winner purchased the PowerPlay® feature for an additional dollar on their wager. If they had, their $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by three, Saturday’s PowerPlay® number, to equal $30,000.
The estimated jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing is $105,000,000.
