$50,000 PowerBallŪ Ticket Claimed

November 15, 2016

$50,000 PowerBall® Ticket Claimed

One of the $50,000 winning PowerBall® tickets sold in Rhode Island for the November 12 drawing has been claimed by a West Kingston man. He said he plans to put the winnings into college fund accounts for his two grandchildren.  The ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number to win the $50,000 standard payout. If the winner had purchased the PowerPlay® feature for an additional dollar on his wager, the prize would have been multiplied by 2, Saturday's PowerPlay® number, to win $100,000. Stop & Shop, 3 Stilson Rd., Richmond, sold the winning ticket.  A $100,000 and a $50,000 prize remain unclaimed from Saturday's drawing. The estimated PowerBall® jackpot for Wednesday, November 16, is $293 million.

A Warwick man found luck playing Keno last Thursday.  He claimed a $9,000 prize for matching seven out of seven numbers on a $2 wager that he played at Pick N Pay Food Mart, 94 George Waterman Rd., Johnston.  Luckily for his children, he said he would put the money towards Christmas gifts.
