PowerBall® and Instant Ticket Winners
This morning was a busy time in the Rhode Island Lottery’s Validations office with a $10,000 PowerBall® winner and a $13,000 Instant Ticket winner.
An East Providence man claimed the $10,000 PowerBall® prize from last Wednesday’s $35,000,000 drawing. The winning ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number, for a $10,000 prize. The winner did not purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If he had, the $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by four, Wednesday’s Power Play® number, increasing the prize to $40,000.
The lucky winner purchased his ticket from Cumberland Farms at 350 North Broadway, East Providence. He joked while gesturing towards his wife that he wanted to spend the prize money all on himself, but he had a shadow following him. His wife then informed me that they had thirteen grandchildren to buy Christmas presents for, so that’s how they’d use the prize money. Saturday’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $50 million. The winning continued with a lucky Providence man claiming a $13,000 winning “Ace in the Hole” Instant Ticket. That winning ticket was purchased from Colbea Enterprises on 1525 Smith Street in North Providence. He hasn’t figured out what he’ll do with his new-found money yet.
