$50,000 Powerball® Win & $10,000 Mega Millions® Ticket Sold in R.I.
Two Daily Numbers Winners
Both the Powerball® and Mega Millions® jackpots were hit over the past weekend. Saturday's $559.7 million Powerball® jackpot was hit in New Hampshire and Friday's $450 million Mega Millions® jackpot was hit in Florida.
A Cranston man claimed the $50,000 winning Powerball® ticket from the January 3rd drawing. His winning ticket matched four numbers and the Powerball® number to win $50,000. He did not purchase the Power Play® feature, which would have multiplied his prize by 3, the Power Play® number for that draw, increasing his prize to $150,000. He plans to save his winnings. Colbea, 1207 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, sold the winning ticket.
Wednesday's estimated Powerball® jackpot is $40 million.
A $10,000 winning Mega Millions® ticket was sold in Rhode Island for Friday night's draw. The winning ticket matched four numbers and the Mega Ball to win the standard prize payout of $10,000. Had the winner purchased the Megaplier® feature for an additional dollar, the prize would have been multiplied by 3, the Megaplier® number for Friday night's draw, increasing the prize to $30,000. The prize has yet to be claimed. Cumberland Farms, 278 Cowesett Ave., West Warwick, sold the winning ticket.
Tuesday's estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $40 million.
A Cranston man claimed a $12,604 Daily Numbers win from the January 3rd Evening draw. He wagered $1 on two four-digit straight bets and $0.50 on a combo bet. He matched all four digits in the exact order they were drawn to win $10,000 for the straight bets, plus $2,604 for the combo bet, for a total win of $12,604. He has no immediate plans for his winnings. Three Ring Liquor, Inc., 474 Plainfield St., Providence, sold the winning tickets.
A North Providence man claimed a $15,624 Daily Numbers win from the January 5th Midday draw. He wagered $0.50 on six combo bets. He matched all four digits in the exact order they were drawn to win $2,604 on each combo bet, for a total win of $15,624. He plans to pay bills and possibly go on a vacation. Mineral Spring Liquor, 1005 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, sold the winning tickets.
