$42,828 Wild Money Jackpot & $10,000 Mega Millions® Prize Remain Unclaimed
There’s been a winning streak for Rhode Island Lottery Instant Ticket players, with $150,000 in big prizes claimed. A Westerly man claimed a $100,000 “100x the Money” Instant Ticket top prize. He plans to purchase a new truck with a portion of his winnings. Stop & Go Food Mart, 129 Main St., Westerly, sold the winning ticket.
A $40,000 top prize on the “Instant Jackpot” Instant Ticket was claimed by a West Warwick woman. She plans to use her winnings to pay for her college tuition. Stop & Shop, 1925 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence, sold the winning ticket.
A Woonsocket woman claimed a $10,000 prize on the “$250,000 Fortune” Instant Ticket. She plans to renovate her home with her winnings. Proulx's Sunoco LLC, 1047 Eddie Dowling Hwy., North Smithfield, sold the winning ticket.
The Mega Millions® game has also been creating a number of winners. There was a $10,000 winning ticket sold in Rhode Island for Friday’s drawing. The ticket matched four numbers and the Mega Ball number to win $10,000. The winner did not play the Megaplier® feature for an additional dollar on his wager, which would have multiplied his prize by 2, the Megaplier® number for Friday night’s draw. A Providence man claimed the prize and shared that the numbers he played were from birthdates and he will use his winnings to pay bills. Cumberland Farms, 751 Hope St., Providence, sold the winning ticket.
A $10,000 winning Mega Millions® ticket from the August 10th drawing was claimed by a woman from Providence. Her winning ticket also matched four numbers and the Mega Ball to win the standard prize of $10,000. Had she purchased the Megaplier® feature for an additional dollar on her wager, her prize would have been multiplied by 5, the Megaplier® number for that draw, increasing her prize to $50,000. She said she is still in shock and does not have any immediate plans for her winnings. Shaw’s Supermarket, 15 Smithfield Rd., North Providence, sold the winning ticket.
A $10,000 winning Mega Millions® ticket sold in Rhode Island for the August 21st drawing still remains unclaimed. The winning ticket matched four numbers and the Mega Ball to win the standard prize of $10,000. Had the winner purchased the Megaplier® feature for an additional dollar on his or her wager, the prize would have been multiplied by 3, the Megaplier® number for that draw, increasing the prize to $30,000. Mendon Road Gulf, 1754 Mendon Rd., Cumberland, sold the winning ticket.
Friday’s estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $152,000,000.
The $42,828 jackpot for Rhode Island’s own progressive jackpot game, Wild Money, was hit on Tuesday, August 21st. Stop & Shop, 149 Franklin St., Westerly, sold the winning ticket. The prize has yet to be claimed.
