$50,000 “Platinum Payout” Winner $20,416 Daily Numbers Winner
Yesterday’s snowstorm didn’t stop Rhode Island Lottery winners from coming in to claim their prizes.
Deborah DeLorenzo of Cranston came in with her son and grandson yesterday to claim the $50,000 prize she won playing “Platinum Payout”, a Rhode Island Lottery instant ticket. She said she couldn’t believe that she’d ever win that much money on a five dollar instant ticket. DeLorenzo plans to put the money right in the bank. Morin’s Liquor Store, 1621 Elmwood Ave., Cranston, sold her the winning ticket. Later in the day, a North Kingstown woman claimed $20,416 from her Daily Numbers win. She had played 2 one-dollar straight bets to win $5,000 each and 2 one-dollar combo bets for $5,208 each, totaling $20,416 in all. The winning number combination, 9 2 4 6, didn’t have any significant meaning to her, but she said they just kept popping up so she decided to play them. She bought the winning ticket from Engine Food Lane, 6155 Post Rd., North Kingstown. The winner plans to use her winnings to pay bills and then go to Key West for a vacation to get away from the weather here.
