$200,000 PowerBall® Winner from Rhode Island
The weather wasn’t the only nice thing this weekend for one Rhode Island Lottery player who won $200,000 on Saturday night’s PowerBall® drawing. The winning ticket matched all five numbers, but not the PowerBall® number, for a standard payout of $200,000. The player did not opt to purchase the PowerPlay® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If he had, his winnings would have been multiplied by five, no matter what PowerPlay® number was drawn, to equal $1,000,000. The $200,000 winning PowerBall® ticket was purchased at Crestwood Wine & Spirits, 725 Tiogue Ave., Coventry. It has yet to be claimed. Wednesday’s estimated jackpot is $32 million.
On Friday, the $10,000 PowerBall® prize from the February 28 drawing was claimed by a Pawtucket man. He plans to use the money to buy an apartment in Columbia. He bought the winning ticket from Fox Grocery, Inc., on Benefit Street in Providence. In addition to all of the PowerBall® wins, there was also a $10,500 Keno winner. The Warwick woman matched eight numbers on a one dollar wager for an eight spot game to win the $10,500. She said her husband has been out of work for a year, so the money will go to paying bills. Saratoga Bar & Grill at 41 Roseland Ave., Warwick, sold the winning ticket.
