$10,000 St. Patrick’s Day Winners

A Pawtucket man claimed a $10,000 prize after making a $2 wager on a 4-digit straight bet for the Rhode Island Lottery Daily Numbers.  Although he waited until St. Patrick’s Day to cash in his winning ticket, the lucky drawing took place on February 5.  He said he always plays the same lucky number, 0 9 2 6, because it’s his daughter’s birthday.  California Liquors on 84 Union Ave., Pawtucket, sold the winning ticket. 

In addition, another man from Pawtucket claimed $10,000 in winnings from the “Silver Bells” instant ticket.  He said he never buys tickets but was out with his friend who bought some so he decided to buy a few of the same game right after him.  The men scratched their tickets at the store and the winner joked that he thought he was going to have to walk home that night since his friend didn’t win.  He bought his winning ticket from Darlington Liquors at 346 Armistice Blvd., Pawtucket.
