$10,000 Winning PowerBall® Ticket from February Claimed
A Providence woman who claims to have terrible luck, finally had some good fortune when she won $10,000 on the February 28 PowerBall® drawing. She said she normally doesn’t even check her tickets, which is why she didn’t come in to claim the prize sooner. She just happened to have won a few dollars on another ticket, so she decided to grab all of her tickets and check them when she cashed the winning one in. She couldn’t believe she had a winning ticket worth $10,000, but said it came at a really good time.
Her ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number. The standard payout for this type of win is $10,000. She did not purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If she had opted for Power Play®, the $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by five, the Power Play® number for that draw, to equal $50,000.
The winning ticket was purchased from Sam’s Food Store at 1348 Chalkstone Ave., Providence.
