Group of 7 Claims $10,000 Winning PowerBall® Ticket
A group of seven Amtrol coworkers claimed the $10,000 winning PowerBall® ticket sold in Rhode Island for Saturday night’s drawing. The group has only been playing together for 6 weeks and said more people from work have asked to join now that they know they won. The members were unanimous that they keep the group to the seven of them so no one new can ruin their luck. According to the players, they usually play their own numbers and then use whatever they win to purchase quick pick tickets, but this time they’ve each got their own plans for the winnings. Yorktown Market on Post Road in North Kingstown sold the winning ticket. The group members are from Providence, Coventry, West Warwick, Cranston and North Kingstown. The ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number, for a $10,000 prize. The group did not purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager, but think they will from now on. If they had played Power Play®, the $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by four, Saturday’s Power Play® number, increasing the prize to $40,000. Tonight’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $25 million.
