Two $10,000 Winning PowerBall® Tickets Claimed Another $10,000 PowerBall® Winner
Two $10,000 PowerBall® winning tickets have been claimed. A Hope Valley man came in to the Lottery Validations office to cash in his winning PowerBall® ticket from the drawing on May 9. His wife has been sick, so he was very grateful to get the money. Hess Express at 83 Point St., Providence, sold the winning ticket. Then a Warwick woman claimed a $10,000 PowerBall® prize from the May 13 drawing. She said she did not tell her three sons of her big win, but did have her picture taken to go on the game monitors so her sons will see it randomly one day and be surprised. According to the winner, the money will be used for paying bills. She bought her winning ticket from Dan’s Convenience Store, on Post Road in Warwick. Furthermore, there was a $10,000 winning PowerBall® ticket sold for Saturday night’s $150 million jackpot drawing from High Spirits Liquor at 571 North Main St., Providence. All of these winning tickets matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number, for a $10,000 prize. Had the winners opted to spend an additional $1 on their wager for the Power Play® feature, their prizes would have been increased to $30,000 for the May 9th and May 13th drawings (Power Play® number drawn was “3”) and $20,000 for the May 16 drawing, (Power Play® number was “2”). Wednesday’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $170 million.
