$45,000 & $12,000 Instant Ticket Winners $24,000 Wild Money Jackpot Claimed
As the PowerBall® jackpot soars over $200 million, the Rhode Island Lottery still has plenty of other big winners coming in.
Instant Games Steven Turner (photo attached) of Warwick won $45,000 on the “Sunny Cash Up” instant ticket, a game he said he’s only played once before. Cheapskates on Warwick Avenue in Warwick sold the winning ticket. According to Turner, he bought a couple of tickets and won $20, so he used that money to buy this game and pocketed the rest. When he realized he won, he asked the clerk if they’ve had any big winners lately, and then said “’Cuz you do now!”
Another Warwick Avenue store sold a winning ticket to a Warwick winner that claimed a $12,000 “In the Money” instant game prize. The young woman said she’ll use the money to buy a new car. She bought her winning ticket from Rite Aid at 1201 Warwick Ave., Warwick.
Wild Money The $24,000 jackpot that was hit last Thursday for Rhode Island’s own progressive jackpot game, Wild Money, was claimed.
A Cumberland man came in with his wife to cash in the ticket. They were thrilled to learn they hit the jackpot and said they’d have no problem finding a way to spend the money, and maybe a trip was in their future. The winning ticket was purchased from the Mendon Athletic Club at 20 Dorr St., Cumberland.
Thursday’s estimated Wild Money jackpot is $24,000.
