Two $10,000 Winning PowerBall® Tickets Claimed $10,000 PowerBall® Winner from Saturday’s Drawing
Beginner’s luck was with one first-time PowerBall® player that won $10,000 on the May 27 drawing. This South Hadley, Mass., woman came in to the Validations office with her father and daughter. Her father plays every time he’s down at the beach in Westerly, but he wasn’t able to make it before the drawing that night. The winner said she had a good feeling about the drawing and since her father couldn’t play, she would. So she had the clerk at the Shore Crest Store on Shore Road in Westerly show her how to play, and she picked numbers that had special meaning to her family. The woman was so excited to have won and said she’s not sure what she’d like to do with the winnings, but she does know that she wants to do something good for someone in need.
In addition, a Warwick man claimed a $10,000 PowerBall® prize from last Wednesday’s drawing. He plans to put his winnings in the bank with the economy as it is. The winner bought the ticket from Ocean State Mobil at 1282 Elmwood Ave., Cranston, and said that’s his favorite Retailer.
There was also a $10,000 winning PowerBall® ticket sold in Saturday night’s drawing from Gold Mart at 1531 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. All of the winning tickets matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number, for a $10,000 prize. The winners did not purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. Had these winners opted for the PowerPlay option, their prizes would have increased to $30,000, $20,000, and $30,000 respectively.
Wednesday’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $45 million.
