$50,000 & $15,000 Instant Ticket Winners $10,000 PowerBall® Claimed
A Manville, RI, woman claimed a $50,000 prize after winning on the Emerald Green 7’s instant ticket. She said it was her first time playing that game, which her husband picked up for her from Manville Market on Main Street in Manville. She plans to use the money to get a new car and pay some bills. Then she’ll put the rest in a savings account for her 3 daughters, aged 10, 5, and almost 1.
David Lange, Warwick, came into the Lottery Validations office with his stepson and three grandchildren to claim a $15,000 winning instant ticket. (Photo attached.) Lange said he doesn’t usually play the Lottery, but said the Crossword 26 Instant Game caught his eye. So, he decided to take a chance and bought about 30 tickets from the Legris Avenue Xtra Mart at 139 Legris Ave., West Warwick. His venture certainly paid off when he won $15,000, which he plans to use to buy his stepson a new car.
There was also a $10,000 winning PowerBall® ticket claimed by a North Scituate woman. She bought her winning ticket for the June 27 drawing from Harmony Corner Store on Snake Hill Road in Glocester and hasn’t decided what she’ll do with her winnings. Her ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number. The standard payout for this type of win is $10,000. The winner did not purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If the player had opted for Power Play®, the $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by four, the Power Play® number for that draw, to equal $40,000.
Tonight’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $49 million.
