$10,000 PowerBall® Winners in Rhode Island
The $10,000 winning PowerBall® ticket from last Wednesday’s drawing was claimed by a Warwick woman who came in to the Validations office with her husband. She said she bought the ticket for him, and then he gave it to her for her birthday, but rather then spend the money on themselves, they’ll be using the winnings to buy Christmas presents for their grandchildren. The winning ticket was purchased from Shop ‘N’ Go at 636 West Shore Rd., Warwick.
There was also a $10,000 winning PowerBall® ticket sold from Three Ring Liquor on Plainfield Street in Providence for Saturday night’s drawing that has not been claimed yet.
Both of these winning tickets matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number. The standard payout for this type of win is $10,000. Neither winner purchased the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If the players had opted for Power Play®, the $10,000 prizes would have been multiplied by 2 or 5, depending on the PowerPlay® number for each draw, to equal $20,000 or $50,000.
Wednesday’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $77 million.
