Rhode Island Lottery Thanksgiving Winners
Five lucky Rhode Island Lottery winners have a lot to be thankful at the start of this holiday season. One lucky player won $200,000 in last Wednesday’s PowerBall® drawing. There were also two $10,000 PowerBall® winners that came in and two $12,000 instant tickets claimed.
The $200,000 winning PowerBall® ticket was purchased at Monforte’s Bar, 493 Waterman Avenue, East Providence. The winner, a man from Seekonk, Massachusetts, said it was all luck that he got this winning ticket. He had asked for a Keno ticket, but the clerk gave him a PowerBall® ticket instead. So, he decided to keep the ticket and ask again for a Keno ticket. He plans to use his money to pay bills and put the rest in the bank.
The winning ticket matched all five numbers, but not the PowerBall® number, for a standard payout of $200,000. The PowerPlay® option was not selected. If it was, his winnings would have been multiplied by five, no matter what PowerPlay® number was drawn, to equal $1,000,000.
In addition, both of the $10,000 PowerBall® winning tickets from the November 21st drawing have been claimed. A woman from Central Falls and a man from Westwood, Massachusetts, were the two winners. Their tickets matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number for a standard payout of $10,000. If the players had purchased the PowerPlay® for an extra dollar, their prizes would have been multiplied by five, to equal $50,000. The winning tickets were sold from Cumberland Farms at 478 Broad Street, Central Falls, and Gold Mart at 1531 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket.
Saturday’s estimated jackpot is $25 million.
The big wins continued when two Instant Tickets winners came in to claim $12,000 each. One player, a woman from East Providence, won playing the Cash Money Instant Ticket that she bought from Rite Aid at 655 Warren Avenue, East Providence. And a gentleman from Providence got lucky with the Freezin’ Greetings Instant Ticket that he purchased from Sonny’s Convenience on Willett Avenue, East Providence.
