Rhode Island’s First Big Mega Millions® Ticket Claimed Plus Other Big Daily Numbers, Instant Ticket and PowerBall® Wins
The first $40,000 Mega Millions® Megaplier® winning ticket sold in Rhode Island for the February 9 drawing has been claimed by a Cranston man. He said he’s not sure what he’ll do with the money and talked about how much the extra dollar for the Megaplier® paid off. The winning ticket matched four numbers and the Mega Ball number, for a standard payout of $10,000, but with the Megaplier®, his prize was multiplied by four, to equal $40,000. Atwood Xtra Mart on Atwood Avenue in Cranston sold the winning ticket.
Friday’s estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $99 million. The PowerBall® jackpot continues to climb as well and is at an estimated $95 million for Saturday’s drawing.
There was a $10,000 winning ticket sold in Rhode Island for last night’s drawing. The ticket matched four numbers, but not the PowerBall® number. The player did not purchase PowerPlay® for the extra dollar. If he had, the prize would have been multiplied by two to equal $20,000. Sharx Bar & Grill in Cranston sold the winning ticket.
The Rhode Island Lottery also had two big Daily Numbers winners come in. A Kingston woman won $10,000 on a ticket she bought at the Exeter Exxon on South County Trail in Exeter. In addition, a woman from Central Falls claimed $30,000 after cashing in six separate $5,000 winning tickets from the May 2 drawing. Lastly, a $50,000 Instant Ticket winner came forward. The West Warwick woman won on the Jingle Bills Instant Ticket that she bought from Main Food Mart on Main Street in West Warwick.
