$200,000 Winning PowerBall® Ticket Claimed High Tier Instant Game & Keno Plus Prizes Claimed
The $200,000 winning PowerBall® ticket sold in Rhode Island for the March 20 drawing has been claimed. A woman from East Providence and a Woonsocket man split the winnings. They had bought the ticket from Taunton Avenue Shell in East Providence the day before leaving for a trip to Florida. The ticket was shoved in the glove compartment and forgotten even after they returned home from vacation. This week, the Woonsocket man went to get his oil change and decided to clean out his car. He took the ticket out of the glove compartment and left it on the dashboard all day. Later that night, when they were at a bowling alley, they checked the ticket and found out they were the big winners from that drawing.
The $200,000 winning ticket matched all five numbers, but not the PowerBall® number. The couple did not purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If they had opted for PowerPlay®, the $200,000 prize would have been multiplied by 5, to equal $1,000,000.
Saturday’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $212 million.
After a 6-week stay in the hospital almost one year ago, Manuel Silva (photo attached), Tiverton, certainly had a change of luck this week. He came in to the Lottery’s Validations office shaking after winning $20,000 on the Lucky Times 20 Instant Ticket. He bought the winning ticket from 177 Variety & Coffee Shop on Bulgarmarsh Road in Tiverton and hasn’t yet decided what to do with the money.
Furthermore, Wendy Daniels (photo attached), Middletown, stopped in at the Lottery on her way to work this morning to claim her $10,000 prize. She bought the lucky Bingo Instant Game from BJ’s Wholesale in Middletown and has no plans yet for the winnings either.
The winning continued today with a $20,500 Keno Plus winner. A Coventry woman played a $5 wager on a 5-spot Keno game at the Getty Mart on Tiogue Avenue in Coventry. The standard payout for that win is $2,500, but she doubled her wager so she could add the Keno Plus multiplier, which turned her winnings into $20,500.
