Winners from Rhode Island’s Jackpot Games Cash In $40,000 Mega Millions® & $10,000 PowerBall® Ticket Claimed
The $40,000 winning Mega Millions® ticket sold in Rhode Island for Friday’s $166 million Mega Millions® drawing has been claimed.
Sandra Mitton of Coventry came to the Lottery Headquarters today to cash in her winnings. She and her husband play whenever they have some extra cash in their pocket. They’ve been playing Quick Picks for PowerBall® for years, and recently started to play Mega Millions® for the first time. They always play the multiplier features on both games for the extra dollar and good thing they did! At first they thought they won $10,000 but realized their winnings were multiplied by 4! Mitton plans on paying off her car and taking a few trips to Virginia and Disney with her four children. She also plans on going back to Bermuda with her husband (without the kids!)
The winning ticket was purchased at Colbea Enterprises, 7025 Post Rd., North Kingstown.
The ticket matched four numbers and the Mega Ball® number, for a $10,000 prize. Sandra selected the Megaplier® feature for an additional dollar on the wager so their $10,000 prize was multiplied by four, Friday’s Mega Ball® number, increasing the prize to $40,000.
Tuesday’s estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $191 million!
Nicholas Berman, North Kingstown, cashed in his $10,000 winning PowerBall® ticket from the March 27 drawing. Stop & Shop at 90 Frenchtown Rd., North Kingstown sold the winning ticket. His ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number for the standard payout of $10,000. He did not play the
PowerPlay® for an extra dollar. If he had, his prize would have been multiplied by 4 to equal $40,000.
Wednesday’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $30 million.
