Two $10,000 Winning PowerBall® Tickets Sold in Rhode Island
$10,208 Daily Numbers Winner
The temperature may be cooling back down, but the PowerBall® jackpot continues to climb to $220 million. Plus, last night’s drawing brought two Rhode Island Lottery players $10,000 each.
Both tickets matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number for a standard payout of $10,000. Neither player opted to purchase the PowerPlay® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If they had, their $10,000 prizes would have been multiplied by four, last night’s PowerPlay® number, to equal $40,000.
A Cranston man came into the Lottery to cash in one of the $10,000 winning tickets. He bought his quick pick ticket from Another Liquor Store on Warwick Avenue in Cranston. The other winning ticket was sold from Elmwood Liquors on Elmwood Avenue in Providence and has yet to be claimed.
Furthermore, Franklyn Post of Westerly came in to claim $10,208 he won on the Daily Numbers game. He played a $1 wager on one 4-digit straight bet and won $5,000. He also played a boxed combination on another ticket and won $5,208. The winning number combination he played was 3 7 8 5. Post said he plans on using some of the money to pay bills, but also enjoy some at Foxwoods.
Stop & Shop in Westerly sold the winning Daily Numbers tickets.
Saturday’s estimated jackpot is $220 million and tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot is $12 million.
