$25,000 & $35,000 Daily Numbers® & 2 $10,000 PowerBall® Winning Tickets
More than five months after matching 4 out of 4 numbers in the Rhode Island Lottery Daily Numbers game, the winner from Bellingham, MA, finally came forward to claim his $25,000 win from the December 29 drawing. He played numbers 1 2 2 2 because they were the numbers his grandmother used to play. The $5 4-digit straight bet was purchased at Renaissance on Bound Road in Cumberland.
A Coventry man also came in today to cash in seven separate winning tickets from Saturday’s drawing winning a total of $35,624. Four of his tickets were one dollar wagers on 4-digit straight bets and three of them were one dollar 4-digit combo bets. West Warwick Shell at Providence Street in West Warwick sold all of the winning tickets.
Also today, 11 Foxwoods coworkers came in to claim the $10,000 winning PowerBall® ticket from the May 22 drawing. The winners are all cooks at Foxwoods and live in Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York. The winning ticket was purchased from Cumberland Farms, 129 Granite Street, Westerly.
There was also a $10,000 winning PowerBall® ticket sold in Rhode Island for Saturday night’s drawing. This ticket was sold from the Korner Store at 306 Broadway, Providence, and has not been claimed.
Both PowerBall® tickets matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number for the standard payout of $10,000. Neither of the tickets had the PowerPlay® option for the extra dollar on their wager. If they had, the prizes would have been increased to $20,000 and $40,000 based on the Power Play® number drawn for each respective drawing.
