Lucky Number 7s

Is winning $17,777 on August 17 from the Ruby Red 7 Instant Ticket a coincidence, or just plain luck? That’s what Kelly Ritarossi along with her two daughters stated when they came to the Lottery Headquarters to claim their winnings this morning. The Coventry family purchased the ticket at Stop & Shop, 900 Tiogue Ave., in Coventry. They just went to Disney World, but they still plan on using some to take another vacation and the rest on education. They were so excited that they wanted to take the big check home with them!

The lucky number 7 sustained with a win on a 7 spot Keno wager. Wayne Rockwell from North Kingstown was having dinner last night at Gillians Ale House in North Kingstown and won a couple hundred on Keno. Then, his friend called to join him, so they decided to stick around and continue to play. He played a $1 wager for the 7 spot game to win $4,500. However, he played an extra $1 for the Keno Plus feature and the 4 multiplier came up turning his prize into $18,000.

To take the cake, the $200,000 PowerBall® winner from Westerly claimed his big win from the June 30 drawing. The winning ticket was purchased at Stop & Go Food Mart in Westerly.

Tomorrow’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $64 million and tonight’s estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $85 million. Playing some 7’s might not be a bad idea today!
