Friday the 13th Proved Lucky

Some people say Friday the 13th is an unlucky day. However, others would have to agree that you could have either bad luck, or really good luck. And lucky is exactly what today turned out to be for 2 big winners here in Rhode Island!

A man from Cranston walked in to the Lottery Headquarters this afternoon with a $100,000 winning Pinball Wizard Instant Ticket in his hand. He had just scratched it off at Pontiac Food Mart in Cranston, and drove straight here. He didn’t even tell his wife yet, and told her he was actually shopping at Price Rite! He and his wife were planning on going out to dinner this weekend to celebrate their birthdays and he’ll use some of the winnings for this. For now, he’s going to put it in the bank. He was speechless about what to do with the rest. “Once in a lifetime” he declared, as he left shaking with the check.

As soon as he walked out, Robert Hopkins from West Warwick walked in to claim his $35,000 he won on the Harley-Davidson’s Instant Ticket 2nd chance drawing. He and his wife couldn’t believe they actually won after they mailed in their tickets. He plans on buying a new Harley with his winnings.

There’s still an opportunity to win a Harley-Davidson on the Instant Ticket through an instant win and another 2nd chance drawing.

Maybe there will be a big Mega Millions winner tonight too as the jackpot is now 75 million! Now that would top this Friday the 13th off!
