Winners Aplenty!
September persists as a big money month for Rhode Island Lottery players with a non-stop flow of Labor Day weekend winners cashing in.
Instant Games The $20 “Black Diamonds” Instant Ticket continues to be a rewarding game for players. The second $20,000 top prize was claimed within days of the first one. There are still 38 more prizes for $20,000 out there in that game, so the winning will carry on. Today’s winner was a woman from Warwick who came in to Lottery Headquarters with her daughter to cash in her ticket. She said she’ll use the money to buy her daughter a jeep. La Perla Fruit Meat Market on Westminster Street in Providence sold the winning ticket.
Keno Plus A West Warwick man stopped into Breads ‘N’ Stuff on Main Street in West Warwick last Friday to buy his PowerBall® ticket. While there, he decided to play five draws for Keno. He played a 7 spot game with the multiplier selected. On the 5th game, all 7 of his numbers came up, which has a standard payout of $4,500, but the 4 multiplier was drawn, turning his winnings into $18,000. He plans to put the money into the bank for now.
PowerBall® Although no one won the jackpot over the weekend, Rhode Island had a $10,000 winner after Saturday’s drawing. Anthony Rega of Cranston came in with his daughter to claim the winning ticket. He matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number to win $10,000. He didn’t play the PowerPlay® feature for the extra dollar on his wager. If he had, his prize would have been multiplied by two to equal $20,000. Anthony said he’s going to pay bills with his winnings. One Stop Shop on Oaklawn Avenue in Cranston sold him the winning ticket. Tomorrow’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $62,000,000.
