$10,000 Mega Millions® Winner BIG CHANGE for Mega Millions® Means BIGGER WINS for Rhode Island!
A $10,000 winning ticket was sold in last night’s $44 million Mega Millions® drawing. The ticket matched four numbers and the Mega Ball® number. The standard payout for this type of win is $10,000. The winner did not purchase the Megaplier® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If the player had opted for Megaplier®, the $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by four, Tuesday’s Megaplier® number, to equal $40,000.
Plus, a new feature has just been added to the game: if the winner had matched all 5 white balls and played the Megaplier® for an extra dollar, his or her winnings would have automatically increased to $1,000,000, no matter what Megaplier® number was drawn! This is the same feature that PowerBall® PowerPlay® has. This now gives Rhode Islanders even more chances to become a millionaire over night.
The winning ticket was purchased from Sam’s Food Store in North Providence. The $10,000 prize has yet to be claimed.
Friday’s estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $54 million, and tonight’s PowerBall® jackpot is $94 million.
