$10,000 Winning PowerBall® Ticket from August Claimed Million Dollar Raffle $5,000 Early Bird Ticket Claimed
More than a month after the August 21, 2010, drawing, the $10,000 winning PowerBall® ticket was claimed today. A woman from South Dartmouth, MA, came in to cash her winnings. She wasn’t able to claim her ticket sooner because she was across the country in California packing to move back to Rhode Island. The money helped cover her moving expenses.
The winning ticket was purchased from Eastside Mart on Lloyd Avenue, Providence. Her ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number. The standard payout for this type of win is $10,000. The winner did not purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If the player had opted for Power Play®, the $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by two, the Power Play® number for that draw, to equal $20,000.
There was a $20,000 PowerBall® PowerPlay® winning ticket from that draw as well, which still has yet to be claimed. That ticket was sold from the Xtra Mart on High Street in Cumberland.
Friday night was the first of four Early Bird Drawings for this year’s Million Dollar Raffle game. The winning number was 0 2 2 5 5 2 and Edward Vessella of West Warwick claimed the $5,000 prize today. He was given the ticket as a birthday present last week and plans to use the winnings to pay bills and buy new deejay equipment. Club Fantasies in Providence sold the winning ticket.
The next drawing for $5,000 will be October 29. To be entered into the Early Bird and Grand Drawings, players need only purchase a Million Dollar Raffle Ticket from any Lottery Retailer. The $5,000 Early Bird winning numbers will be announced at Twin River at 8pm on the nights of the drawings. Winners need not be present to win. Drawing dates and winning numbers can be found here.
