Four lucky Rhode Islanders had a winning weekend after the PowerBall® and Wild Money drawings on Saturday night. The $128 million PowerBall® jackpot may have been hit in Michigan, but Rhode Island still had one $40,000 and two $10,000 winners. Plus, there was a $26,058 jackpot winner in Wild Money, which is Rhode Island’s own progressive jackpot game.
The $40,000 and $10,000 winning PowerBall® tickets all matched four numbers, and the PowerBall® number. Only one of the players opted to purchase the PowerPlay® feature for an additional dollar on the wager, so when the 4 multiplier came up, his $10,000 prize turned into $40,000.
The $40,000 ticket was sold from Cumberland Farms on Division Street in Pawtucket and has yet to be claimed. The $10,000 winning tickets were purchased at Stop & Shop at 3 Stilson Rd., Richmond, and Cumberland Farms at 70 Main St., West Warwick.
A West Warwick man came in first thing this morning to claim the $10,000 winning ticket from Cumberland Farms. The lucky number was a quick pick, and he plans to put the money in the bank. The other $10,000 and $40,000 prizes have not been claimed yet.
Wednesday’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $20 million.
The Wild Money jackpot didn’t have a long time to climb since it was last hit on October 28. The $26,058 winning jackpot ticket was sold from Cumberland Farms at 3166 East Main Rd., Portsmouth, for Saturday night’s drawing. This ticket has not been claimed. Tomorrow’s estimated Wild Money jackpot is $20,000.
