Thanksgiving Winners Keno Plus made a lot of Rhode Island Lottery players happy over the holiday weekend.
A Cumberland woman claimed a $105,000 winning Keno Plus ticket just in time for her retirement. She was already planning to retire, but this big win will make it easier. The winner and her husband have five children, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. The whole family will be going to their house for Christmas Eve, so the money will make this a very merry holiday.
Michael Lebreton of North Kingstown (photo attached) also won big on Keno Plus. His prize was $42,000 and he said he’ll use the money to go to college and to buy a car.
Both winners played a one dollar wager on an eight spot bet and matched all eight numbers. The standard payout for this type of win is $10,500. However, both players opted to double their wagers and purchased Keno Plus, so the $10,500 prize was multiplied by ten and four based on that draw’s Keno Plus number.
The $105,000 winning ticket was purchased from Bristol County Elks on Constitution Street in Bristol. Engine Food Lane on Post Road in North Kingstown sold the $42,000 winning ticket.
Friday night’s Mega Millions® drawing also made a lucky Rhode Island winner. There was a $10,000 prize won that night. The ticket matched four numbers and the Mega Ball number. The winner did not purchase the Megaplier® option for the extra dollar. If he had, the prize would have been multiplied by two, Friday’s Megaplier ® number, to equal $20,000. The winning ticket was sold from Cheapskates on Warwick Avenue in Warwick and has not been claimed.
Tuesday’s estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $52 million.
