Two $10,000 Winning Mega Millions® Tickets Sold in Rhode Island
Rhode Island had two $10,000 winning Mega Millions® tickets sold for last night’s drawing. Each ticket matched four numbers and the Mega Ball number.; The standard payout for this type of win is $10,000. The winners did not purchase the Megaplier® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If the players had opted for the Megaplier®, the $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by 4, last night’s Megaplier® number, to equal $40,000.
One of the winning tickets was purchased from Cumberland Farms on Friendship Street in Westerly by a couple from Bozrah, CT. They picked their lucky numbers using birthdays and their daughter’s anniversary, and have been playing them since December. They plan to keep the money in the bank until they need it. Pick ‘N’ Pay Food Mart on George Waterman Road in Johnston sold the other winning ticket, which has not yet been claimed.
Friday’s estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $77 million. A $10,000 PowerBall® winning ticket from the October 27, 2010, drawing was claimed this morning. The winner is a woman from Seekonk, MA, who kept forgetting to check the ticket every time she was in Rhode Island. The win came at the perfect time as she and her husband are going on a cruise in June with their two daughters. Gee’s Liquor on Broadway in Pawtucket sold the winning ticket.
Tonight’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $20 million.
