$10,000 Mega Millions® Ticket Claimed $20,000 “Black Diamonds” Winner
The $10,000 Mega Millions® winning ticket from the March 18 drawing was just claimed by an excited Cranston woman. She played the ticket with one of her friends and plans to split the money with her. The winner said she and her friend had checked the ticket, but mistakenly thought it was a PowerBall® ticket, since they rarely play Mega Millions®, and figured they only won three dollars. When they went in to the store to cash it they couldn’t understand why the Retailer was sending them to the Lottery headquarters to get their money or how they won over $599.
The Rite Aid at 548 Dyer Ave. in Cranston sold the winning ticket. The Mega Millions® jackpot continues to climb and is now estimated at $312 million for Friday’s drawing.
There was also an excited Greenville man who cashed in his winning “Black Diamonds” Instant Ticket for a $20,000 prize. He plans to pay bills and buy his wife a new car with the winnings. The Pick ‘N Pay Food Mart at 615 Putnam Pike in Greenville sold the ticket.
