$10,000 BINGO Winner in Warwick
John Rego of Warwick, played Bingo last Friday night at the Chelo’s on Post Rd. in Warwick. The pattern matched five lines, which resulted in a $10,000 winning ticket, the highest amount you can win on this game.
He and his wife were speechless when they discovered how much they won. The whole bar started cheering, and the news brought tears to their eyes. It was his mother-in-law’s dollar they won on, but she insisted they keep the money. Rego has been out of work on medical leave, so the money will help to pay some of his bills.
Bingo is a new Rhode Island Lottery game that is currently being tested at the Chelo’s on Post Rd. in Warwick as well as the Chelo’s on Clinton St. in Woonsocket for a trial period until April 3. In addition to the five lines, players can match four lines, two lines, three lines, one line, a Y pattern, an X pattern and four corners. Players first decide how much to wager, then how many boards to play and how many consecutive games they’d like to play.
Lottery ambassadors have been at these two locations for the past three Friday nights answering questions players may have about the game, getting feedback and handing out Bingo Free Plays for people to try the game. They will be at both Chelo’s again this Friday from 5:30 – 8:30pm.
