Winners, Winners, Winners Big Prizes Claimed for Instant Games, PowerBall®, and Wild Money
The week has started off with some big wins for Rhode Island Lottery players.
Instant Games Two people claimed a $500,000 winning Cash Spectacular Ticket. They decided to take the lump sum versus the annuity option for this particular ticket, and split $328,361 (before taxes). The winning ticket was sold from Phred’s Drug on 1300 Oaklawn Avenue in Cranston.
PowerBall® A very happy Pawtucket man claimed the $40,000 winning PowerBall® ticket from the March 26 drawing. He plans on putting the money mostly towards bills, but did mention he’ll buy a new motorcycle too. The ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number, for a $10,000 prize. He selected the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager so his $10,000 prize was multiplied by four, Saturday’s Power Play® number, increasing the prize to $40,000. Broadway Market in Pawtucket sold the winning ticket.
The $10,000 PowerBall® ticket from the same draw was claimed by a gentleman from Cranston. Without hesitation, the money will go towards his daughter’s education at URI. The ticket, sold at Hess Express at 1783 Plainfield Pike in Johnston, matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number resulting in the $10,000 win.
Wild Money Carolyn Roderick from Harrisville cashed in on a $45,039 Wild Money ticket she picked up at Great Road Li’l General at 659 Great Road in North Smithfield. She has only been playing Wild Money for five months and is certainly thrilled she did! She plans on going on a shopping spree to buy shoes and clothes before putting the rest of it in the bank.
