$200,000 Winning PowerBall® Ticket Claimed
The $200,000 winning PowerBall® ticket sold in Rhode Island for the April 6 drawing has been claimed by two friends from West Greenwich.
The winning ticket had been riding around the last couple of weeks in the winner’s car visor! The two winners went to the grocery store today and checked the ticket on their way out. Once the sales clerk told them that it was a $200,000 winner, they sped straight to the Lottery.
One of the winners plans to use the money to pay off her bills and put it in the bank. The other winner is deciding between buying a new car and getting Lasik eye surgery.
BJ’s Wholesale Club in Coventry sold them the winning ticket.
The $200,000 winning ticket matched all five numbers, but not the PowerBall® number. The winners did not purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If they had opted for PowerPlay®, the $200,000 prize would have automatically become a $1,000,000 prize no matter what PowerPlay® number was drawn.
Saturday’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $43 million.
