$10,000 PowerBall® Ticket Claimed
While Tropical Storm Irene might have shut some places down, the Rhode Island Lottery is open and paying out big wins! The $10,000 PowerBall® winner from August 24 drawing had time to cash in her winning ticket this morning since her office was closed with no power. The Lincoln woman said she and her husband will both get some spending money, but then they’re going to put the rest of the money in the bank.
The ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number for last Wednesday’s drawing. The standard payout for this type of win is $10,000. The winner did not purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If she had, the $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by five, the Power Play® number for that draw, to equal $50,000.
The winning ticket was purchased from Sunoco on 634 George Washington Highway in Lincoln.
The $10,000 PowerBall® winner from August 20 still has not come forward. Wednesday’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $75 million.
