$284,157 Winning Wild Money Ticket Claimed $10,000 PowerBall® Winner in Rhode Island
The $284,157 jackpot hit in Tuesday’s Wild Money drawing was claimed yesterday by a man from North Attleboro. He was still in shock and hadn’t yet decided what to do with the money, so he was putting it in the bank for now. He called his brother on Tuesday night after he realized he won to share the news and have him come to the Lottery with him. Gold Mart on Newport Avenue in Pawtucket sold the winning ticket. Both the winner and his brother say they’ll keep buying their tickets from the Gold Mart since it’s proved to be a lucky store for them.
The Wild Money drawings take place three times a week: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights, live on WPRI-TV at 7:29pm. Tonight’s estimated jackpot is $20,000.
There was also a $10,000 PowerBall® winning ticket sold in last night’s drawing. The ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number, winning the standard payout of $10,000. The winner did not purchase the PowerPlay® option for an extra dollar. If PowerPlay® was selected, the $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by 5, last night’s PowerPlay® number, to equal $50,000.
Mozzarella’s Italian Grill on Mineral Spring Avenue in North Providence sold the winning ticket, which has not yet been claimed. Saturday’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $91 million.
